I’m not sure I would have asked for such a critical review, but thus far I think it’s inspired my thinking. It didn’t take a crack squad of investigators to sniff out my areas of weakness, just a few people who were paying attention. Go ask you peers/leaders for critical feedback, or even just ask them what you can start/stop doing to make it easier for them to work with you. I’d bet you’d get at least one person who would give you candid feedback.

I’m supposed to have my annual review later today, and I find myself wanting similar guidance – to be challenged and enabled to improve. Work has been slow; my cost to the company has become greater than the value I’m adding. This isn’t my fault, but it still limits my growth and negatively impacts my career. I’d like to be given the opportunity (maybe even the responsibility) to turn this trend around.

Great list though I’d add a couple more places:

Kidd Valley:
Local chain of burger places, they have the best milkshakes

Any local coffee shop:
Living in Seattle, if you love coffee, the best is to go to a local coffee shop, my favorite included: Zoka, Trabant, Cafe on the Ave, Vivace

The Ram:
It’s in the U-District, great restaurant/bar hangout place, great atmosphere and food

I think the reasons I love the league are also the most frustrating. I mean I can’t get anything over on anyone. It makes it very challenging to get ahead.

Hey Scott… re-write away if you want. It’s a pain in the ass but I’ve been creating the file by hand every week so if you want to kick it back at me at least there is a process in place to give to the client. And yes, I’ll owe you… Sharon will owe you… and I’ll make sure Jim owes you too!
