Jets v. Titans

We sat in section 107, which is in the Southwest corner of the field, and we were about 6 rows from the field. We parked about 18 blocks from the field (for free) and hiked it. So at least I got my exercise. It was the first loss for the Titans in the 2008 season and the only second time they’ve faced a 3-4 Defense (they struggled against the Ravens too). They couldn’t get good field position on kick returns, they couldn’t run the ball, they couldn’t get into the red zone, and they just couldn’t get anything going offensively.

What’s worse is that the most memorable play of the game was a pass interference call on our defense. It was the 4th quarter and the Jets were 3rd and long. Side Judge #103 decided to write his own eulogy and throw that flag. What would have forced a punt now setup a Touchdown drive for the Jets, who really commanded the tempo of the drive and really the whole game. About 5 plays later, Side Judge #103 decides he wants to be buried in Nashville, so he throws another flag for pass interference. This one wasn’t even close. I lost my voice in about 30 seconds. Chants of “Ref you suck” are echoing and I can hear it from 3 sections on either side. My first thought was how much I wanted to go to a Predator’s game. Now those fans wouldn’t put up with this kind of officiating. They’d throw a catfish on the ice.
